General study.
Currently, we support biospecimen collection studies, real world data studies, surveys, and patient recruitment for interviews/focus groups though our direct-to-patient network. In the future, we anticipate adding clinical trial recruitment and even marketing research.
Additionally we have access to samples collected via a healthcare provider network through our sister website www.biosampleconnect.com.
Through our patient network, we can collect any sample that can be collected with “minimal risk” including blood (and derivatives), urine, stool, saliva, cheek swabs, nasal swabs, skin scrapings, hair, vaginal swabs, and semen. We can also perform other minimal risk research such as surveys and wearable data collection.
Additionally, we have access to healthcare provider organizations and biobanks through our sister organization BioSample Connect (www.biosampleconnect.com) for samples that are banked or prospectively-collected by a healthcare provider. We can get just about anything that comes out of the human body through these relationships!
For more information, please visit our biospecimen page.
When patients sign up, they give us access to their electronic medical records which includes demographics, diagnoses, medications, procedures, labs/test results, vital signs, encounter information, allergies, family history, social history, and more. Patients can access longitudinal data across all of their providers. Click here for more information.
Biospecimens
Joined Bio and BioSample Connect are now a single company so you can request a feasibility assessment and order any specimens you need via either website. Just tell us what you need and we’ll get it for you from either patients directly or through our provider network.
It’s simple – just fill out a quote request form and we will begin your feasibility assessment or contact you if we need more information.
After the project details and quote have been finalized, Joined Bio only needs a PO from our clients and we’ll take care of everything else.
Biospecimen collections can take as little as a few days if patients are available in our network or specimens are available in a biobank. Please request a quote and we will provide you with a proposal and project timeline.
Quality and compliance
First and foremost, we use real electronic medical record data and AI (as opposed to patient reported data) to validate inclusion and exclusion criteria for each patient. Additionally, we perform further screening checks such as surveys, phone screens, and specimen testing as needed. Patients must also show identification before we perform a specimen collection.
Data comes to us electronically – directly from the electronic medical record systems that houses our participants’ data. By eliminating human intervention in the process, we eliminate the errors that happen when data is transcribed by humans.
Our blood specimens are collected by trained phlebotomists who come to the participant’s home or other place of choice for the collection. Collections that do not require a trained clinician (e.g. saliva) can be collected by the patient directly. All specimens come with a money-back guarantee that they were collected in accordance with the collection protocol.
Yes! We operate under a single IRB protocol that covers most “minimal risk” research such as blood collections, surveys, interviews, and other behavioral research. Using one protocol, one consent form, and one material and data use agreement simplifies compliance by eliminating the need to track different requirements across multiple protocols and contracts.
About our platform
Our platform currently supports our patient experience, including recruiting patients into the platform and ushering them into and through studies.
